| Blackwater Murderers Go Free While Blackwater Protesters Sentenced | |||||
| |||||
| The 7 protesters arrested at Blackwater USA in October for recreating the Nisoor Square massacre at the company's front door were sentenced by Currituck County Superior Court Judge Russell Duke on Tuesday, January 22. Meanwhile, the Blackwater mercenaries who slaughtered 17 innocent civilians remain free, enjoying the protection of the Bush Administration. The latest 'protection' includes a signing statement by President Bush issued at the time of his signing the latest military industrial complex funding bill on January 28th. That bill included a provision for creating a commission to investigate the use of civilian contractors such as Blackwater in Iraq and Afghanistan. The signing statement essentially waives any such requirement put upon the President by Congress. | |||||
